Waterloo Inspired Performance
A Damn'd Close-Run Thing! was written by Piers Burton-Page. It was performed at Waterlooville Library and was about an improbable posthumous encounter between the Emperor Napoleon and the Duke of Wellington. This short specially written entertainment for the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloowas both comic and serious as well as being fully staged and performed in costume by the Winton Players from Petersfield.
OmniArts devised 5 scripts and choreographed a dance piece as part of Waterlooville 200. The 5 scripts are short plays about Waterlooville through the ages and the scripts went out in the study packs to local schools. During the project they ran workshops for young people in Waterlooville to learn to perform the pieces and these were performed on Saturday 20th June. They all presented a dance that represented the opposing commanders at the Battle of Waterloo.
S1mple (Some 1 Making Peoples Lives Easier) is an Urban Poet traveling the UK captivating and inspiring others through words and actions whilst raising awareness and funding for charitable causes. S1MPLE performed to the crowds on 20th June festivities.
